JR will make your ferry reservation for you. All you have to do is show up at the dock. The ferry staff will have your name on an exclusive list of invited guests allowed to visit Sapelo Island that day.
It will cost you $5.00 round trip for the ferry (cash only) per person. Sapelo Island is a 30-minute ferry ride. For information on some of the sights, you'll see on Sapelo, visit our Sapelo Sights Page.

Make time to visit the Sapelo Island Visitor Center before or after your tour - Hours Open: Tuesday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Sunday 1:30- 5 p.m. Closed Monday. (Route 1, Box 1500,Darien, GA 31305)
Ferry Schedule
Sapelo Island has limited access and prior arrangements must be made for planned visits to the island. If prior arrangements are not made you may not be able to get on the ferry. For directions to the dock, click here.

Cancellation Policy
At Sapelo Island Tours, we understand that plans can change, and we strive to accommodate our guests as much as possible. Due to the exclusive nature of our tours and limited availability, we have adopted the following cancellation policy:
- No Refunds if you cancel less than 10 days before your scheduled tour: This policy is in place due to the limited spots available on our tours and the planning involved in creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.
- Date Changes: If you need to change the date of your tour, we are more than happy to assist you, subject to availability. Changes to your tour date can be made up to 10 days before your scheduled departure without any additional charge. Please note that all date changes are subject to the availability of spots on the new desired date. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but we cannot guarantee availability.
- How to Request a Date Change: To request a change to your tour date, please contact JR Grovner (912) 506-6463 with your booking details and preferred new date. We will review the calendar and inform you of the availability.
- Late Requests: Requests for date changes made less than 10 days prior to the scheduled tour date cannot be guaranteed and are subject to a change fee, depending on the availability and the notice given.
- No-Shows: Guests who do not show up for their scheduled tour will not be eligible for a date change or any form of compensation. We encourage our guests to contact us in advance if they foresee any issues with making their tour.
